EFEKTIFITAS INFORMASI KESEHATAN MELALUI TEXT MESSAGES PADA IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER III UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PENGETAHUAN SIKAP DAN PERILAKU PEMBERIAN ASI DI PUSKESMAS KOTA YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

Text messages melalui handphone merupakan media komunikasi paling umum digunakan masyarakat dan memiliki potensi sebagai upaya promosi kesehatan tentang ASI Eksklusif. Pemberian ASI merupakan metode efektif untuk meningkatkan status kesehatan dan menurunkan morbiditas dan mortalitas bayi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas intervensi informasi ASI Eksklusif melalui text messages pada ibu hamil trimester III dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku pemberian ASI. Rancangan penelitian adalah Quasy experiment. Responden pada kelompok intervensi diberikan text messages terkait informasi ASI Eksklusif selama 4 minggu, text messages dikirim setiap 2 hari sebanyak 2 pesan. Pengetahuan dan sikap dinilai sebelum intervensi diberikan. Evaluasi pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku pemberian ASI dilakukan ketika usia bayi 8 minggu. Total sampel sebanyak 61 responden dirandomisasi untuk masuk kelompok intervensi (n=30) dan kelompok kontrol (n=31). Perbedaan signifikan ditemukan pada rata-rata peningkatan skor pengetahuan dan sikap antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol (ρ=<0,001). Perbedaan signifikan juga ditemukan pada peningkatan skor sikap antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol (ρ=<0,001). Tidak ditemukan perbedaan signifikan perilaku pemberian ASI antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol. Intervensi informasi Kesehatan tentang ASI Eksklusif melalui text messages efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap seseorang terkait ASI Eksklusif. Institusi pelayanan kesehatan dapat mempertimbangkan penggunaan text messages untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap ibu terkait ASI Eksklusif.
